When we opened our window in the morning, a warm and sunny seawind approached us. Perfect weather for surfing!
Hence, we packed our stuff and went to the Zurriola beach. There we rented some surfing equipment and got an introduction to surfing by some local surfers. We encountered the first problems while trying on the wet suits, because we all felt very claustrophobic and fat.
Next, we made some warming up exercises at the beach. We felt like dying fish.

Afterwards, we were allowed to try out in the water what we had learnt before. Some of us did pretty well while others were constantly hit by waves and fell into the cold ocean (They were also dying fish in the water).

However, we did not have enough time to practise - clouds came up and it started to rain cats and dogs. When the first lightning was seen, everyone ran out of the water. We used our boards as a protection against the heavy rain.

Shortly after, the class separated into small groups and enjoyed their spare time.
Some of us went to the beach in order to visit the famous monuments "Peine del Viento (Windkämme)" while others wandered through the city and went shopping.

In the evening we met up at the hotel and walked together to a traditional, Basque restaurant where we took a Pinxtos cooking lesson with local cooks.
Besides showing us how to prepare different types of Pinxtos, they offered us a glass of Sidra (traditional drink) directly form the barrel. Even though not everyone liked fish, we had a lot of fun!

In the end we ate the delicious self-created food all together and then enjoyed the free evening! There were some fantansitc photosessions at the beach with the beautiful, breathtaking sunset and in general bonding time in class.

To sum up, it was a beautiful day with special moments and a lot of fun!
